Falkland Islands Maps and Travel Guides

Click here for a larger Map of South America

We suggest that everyone travelling to the Falkland Islands take a map and a guidebook. Whether it is for an all-inclusive one-week holiday or a three-month on-a-shoestring adventure, your trip planning will be successful using these valuable tools.

South America is not the kind of place where you want to be lost, so having a map is important, and if a guide book can save you from one bad meal or one poor choice of hotel it will pay for itself.

Information and Online map of the Falkland Islands

The Falkland Islands are located in the southern Atlantic Ocean, east of Argentina. They consist of 2 main islands and about 200 smaller islands. Discovered in the 16th century and settled in the mid-18th century, the islands have since been the subject of a territorial dispute, first between Britain and Spain, and more recently between Britain and Argentina. They are currently governed as an overseas territory of the UK.

Many people go to the Falklands to see penguins, albatross, giant elephant seals, dolphins and pods of killer whales. Others go for the wilderness, and the unique plants which Charles Darwin noticed on his voyage so long ago. The capital, Stanley, is a cosmopolitan port where many different languages may be heard on the streets. Buy a Falkland Islands map and travel guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit to this off-the-beaten-track group of islands.
