How to Find Maps, Travel Guides, Globes or Accessories
Thank you for taking the time to read this page. Our goal is to help you find what you are looking for as quickly and easily as possible. To accomplish this goal, we have created 5 types of navigation for you to use, depending on your preference.
Drilldown - Follow links to a complete listing of products by region.
Advanced Search - Choose from drop down lists and enter product titles, recommended for advanced users and those comfortable working with search engines.
Quicksearch - Enter keywords into a text box, the fastest and easiest way to search.
Site Map - See an overview of our site with links to each section.
Special Orders - Get a quotation for rare or hard to find products if available.
To begin a drilldown search, just click on any of the links titled Maps, GPS, Books, or Globes on the left-hand side of your screen. This link will take you to a page dedicated to each type of product. From this page, you can continue to narrow down your search using the links listed. These links will yield product listings based on the location and product type you choose.
To get to the advanced search page, click on the red button on the right hand menu screen labeled Advanced Search. Once you are on this page, you have the choice of searching for products by item number, title, continent, country, state or province, publisher, category and department. You can use one field or a combination of the search fields. You can also choose the how to view the products brought up by the search: thumbnails (with pictures) or One Line (text only). You can also choose how many items are displayed per page of the search.
The fastest, most convenient way to search is to use the quick search bar. This bar is located on every page, near the top of the screen on the right-hand side. To search for a product, simply enter a keyword or 2 word phrase into the bar and then press the button.
TIPS:
When using the quicksearch, you can enter keywords to indicate the following information: Title, location, type of product (map, book, gps, etc.).
Using less words, or shorter words ("Driv" instead of "Driving" or "Drive") will yield a greater amount of search results, while entering several words will increase the precision of your search.
Related words can be used to search for products, for example "hiking" will call up several maps related to hiking, whether or not the word "hiking" is included in the title.
Using determiners and prepositions is not recommended. For example, entering "map banff" will yield several results, while "a map of banff" will only show titles that contain "of".
In general, we recommend entering 1-2 short words into the search field. If you find no results, try removing one word, if you find too many or unrelated matches, try adding a word to your query.
This page is an overview of our entire site with links to every section. Simply browse the list of product types and click on the most suitable link. You will then be taken to a page where you can drill down to specific products. To use the site map, click the Site Map link on the left-hand side of your screen.
If you cannot find what you are looking for on our site, click the Special Order link on the left-hand side of your screen. You can then fill out a short form and submit it to us. We will search for that item and provide you with a quotation (including shipping costs if the address is provided) typically within 2-3 business days if the product is available.
